Craniosacral Therapy
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the Craniosacral system. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, the practitioner facilitates the release of restrictions in the Craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. Craniosacral Therapy is a whole-person approach to healing in which the interconnection between mind, body and spirit is deeply acknowledged. The session quite often involves a process of dissolving patterns that inhibit your health and vitality. At the end of the session, you may feel relaxed, but also energized
Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a safe and effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure. In this way, the connective tissue is manipulated to relieve restrictions, tension, pain and increase range of motion. MFR is helpful for addressing chronic pain and limited movement caused by physical trauma, scarring, stress, repetitive motion, poor posture, and inflammation.
Cupping
Cupping is a type of deep-tissue massage using small cups to pull tissue away from underlying structures. By lifting rather than compressing, cupping facilitates movement of fascia, breaking up of adhesions and increased circulation to chronically tight areas. Cupping can be particularly beneficial for those with chronic pain and range of motion issues. Cupping can be added on to any massage for $30.
Chair Massage
Refresh yourself fast with a rejuvenating chair massage. The University of Pennsylvania Office of Health Education says "even 15 minutes of massage to the neck, back, arms and hands can increase circulation, returning energy levels." For this type of massage, you keep all of your clothes on. The massage chair gives the massage therapist easy access to your neck, shoulders, back, arms, hands and head. At this time, we no longer offer chair massage.
Prenatal Massage
Prenatal massage shares many of the goals of regular massage such as relief of tension and relaxation, but it's also tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies, and therapists who are trained in prenatal massage adjust their techniques accordingly.
"Touch comes before sight, before speech. It is the first language and the last, and it always tells the truth." Margaret Atwood
