Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the Craniosacral system. This system is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. There is a natural, fluid rhythm that oscillates on a simple level, from the head down to the sacrum and back. On a detailed level this fluid rhythm bathes and affects all structures in the body and energy field. The rhythm of the craniosacral system carries a blue print for health which is present form the time of early embryological development and is responsible for maintaining the balance between form and function. When these rhythms are balanced and expressed in fullness, health and well being naturally follow. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, the practitioner facilitates the release of restrictions in the Craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. Craniosacral Therapy is a whole-person approach to healing and the interconnection between mind, body and spirit is deeply acknowledged.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release addresses the connective tissue web that permeates the body in a three dimensional manner, uninterrupted, head-to-toe. MFR is helpful for addressing tension and limited ranges of motion caused by physical trauma, scarring, stress, repetitive micro trauma, poor posture, and inflammation. Myofascial restrictions and tension can also be a large factor in chronic pain problems that haven’t responded to traditional medical intervention. Myofascial release is a hands-on session of gentle, therapeutic body work in which the fascia is manipulated and stretched to relieve restrictions and tension. Often the process relieves many points of strain and tension because it puts slack or “give” back into the system. This allows for the fascia to regain its elastic quality and move toward a more healthy, hydrated state, which promotes the healing process and allows people to enjoy a higher quality of life.

Reiki

a deeply relaxing treatment developed in Japan that has been practiced for thousands of years. After the tension is released from your body, Reiki energy allows your body to heal itself. In this way, a Reiki treatment is similar to the restorative power of a good night’s sleep, condensed into one hour. You lie on a massage table and remain clothed while the Reiki practitioner places her hands on places of pain, tension, or dysfunction. Each treatment is tailored to your needs.

Chair Massage

Refresh yourself fast with a rejuvenating chair massage from a licensed massage therapist.
For this type of casual and quick massage, you keep all of your clothes on, and no oil or creams are applied to your skin. While a massage therapist charges by the hour for a table massage, chair massage is billed by the minute, making chair massage a great alternative for clients who do not have a lot of time or need to squeeze in some stress relief during a busy day. The University of Pennsylvania Office of Health Education says "even 15 minutes of massage to the neck, back, arms and hands can increase circulation, returning energy levels."
The massage chair gives the massage therapist easy access to your neck, shoulders, back, arms, hands and head. Specify which parts of the body you would like her to concentrate on. Each therapist has her own routine, depending on her style and your requests.

Benefits of chair massage:
• Boosts energy, alertness, and productivity
• Increases Circulation
• Reduces muscle tension and pain
• Helps prevent Repetitive-Stress Injuries
• Relaxes and rejuvenates

15 minutes$20.00
10 minutes$10.00

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu is an eastern massage modality which seeks to release and facilitate the flow of vital life energy, known as Qi (Chi in Chinese, Ki in Japanese), within the body. Shiatsu incorporates a number of massage techniques and stretching positions. The client should wear loose comfortable clothing (not jeans pleae) to each session as they will stay fully dressed and need to be able to move freely as the practitioner performs the massage. Shiatsu is founded on the premise that the body is equal to the earth. The five elements of Shiatsu include Water, Wood, Fire, Metal and Earth. The Therapist will assess which of these elements are out of balance in the client's body and help the client find harmony by working corresponding meridians. Certain ailments relate to certain elements as well and each session may also be tailored to relieve specific symptoms (both physical and emotional).

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient practice and can be used to treat deep muscular issues as well as for energy medicine. It is a technique where the therapist uses glass 'cups' as a tool during the massage
to create a vacuum on the skin. The vacuum effects of the cup create suction that softens tissues and increases circulation of Qi (life energy), blood and fluids. Cupping is not painful but the client should expect to experience slight surface bruising due to the nature of this work. By stimulating the skin and underlying muscles, benefits of cupping include releasing toxins, and promoting circulation.
